MONDAY EVENINGS 7:30 – 9:00 PM In the seventh grade students study the Kingdom of God during the first semester and Revelation during the second semester. While studying the Kingdom of God students will come to realize that it is God’s rule of love, peace and justice in our hearts, lives and the world. In order to change and grow, students need to learn more about their faith and find ways to connect their faith to everyday learning. During the second semester, the students will enhance their study of the Trinity and see how their relationship with God can grow into a deeper one, and how the gift of faith from God compels and empowers us to live lives of love and justice. *Please note that if a student is absent from class, all work for that date is to be done at home.

The eighth grade program will entail a study of
Church History and Morality. The program will attempt to achieve four
goals: The first semester of the course will concentrate on telling the story of the Catholic Church, providing analysis and insights into key persons who have shaped the church. Additionally, through activities, discussions, and prayer, the students will be challenged to consider their stance toward membership in the church. The course will help students encounter people who have been touched by God and have responded in heroic, simple, inspiring, or sometimes dramatic ways. Emphasis will be placed on the notion that despite some of the terrible events in history, the church – because it is the people of God – has continually listened to God and has been capable of reforming itself. The second semester will concentrate on human morality. The text will describe the nature and limits of human freedom, together with the nature and limits of human responsibility. Authentic Christian morality is rooted in our ability to see and love ourselves the way Jesus sees and loves us. The course will also prepare the students for an understanding of conscience. *Please note that if a student is absent from class, all work for that date is to be done at home.
